Fresh from being voted “Best competition of the year” for the
9th time in its history by the prestigious Horse International
yearbook and the International Jumping Riders’ Club, the Geneva
International Horse Show is back in all its beauty.
Featuring the world’s N° 1 rider in each of the four disciplines being
disputed, Geneva promises to be spectacular! So we will be able to
spur on Kent Farrington from the USA in the show jumping, Australian
driver Boyd Exell, and Germans Isabell Werth and Michael Jung
in the dressage and indoor cross-country respectively. The Swiss
delegation promises to be strong, led by local boy Steve Guerdat,
who as always will be putting his heart into performing well in front
of his home crowd.
CHI Geneva is also one of the four prestigious Majors of the
Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping, alongside CHIO Aachen, the
Spruce Meadows “Masters” of Calgary, and the Dutch Masters of
s’Hertogenbosch. In figures, it represents 42,000 spectators over
4 days, 420 horses, 120 competitors and 700 volunteers.
The canton and the city of Geneva are therefore proud to be
associated once more with this important sporting event which does
so much to boost the international reputation of our region. We thank
the organising committee and all the volunteers for their hard work
throughout the year in arranging this splendid event.
