The Dutch Masters begins

As of tomorrow, the equestrian elite will gather for the Dutch Masters of `s-Hertogenbosch (NED) which, for the first time, constitutes a Major in the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping.

A total of 46 riders will be representing 13 countries. Grégory Wathelet and Philipp Weishaupt will of course be taking part and hoping to double up on their respective victories at CHIO Aachen and the Spruce Meadows “Masters” of Calgary. However, Kent Farrington, winner of the CHI Geneva Rolex Grand Prix, is unfortunately still convalescing so will forfeit his chance.

Other great show jumping names will be present, including Frenchman Kevin Staut, winner of Geneva’s 17th Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final in December, Scott Brash, the sole winner of the Grand Slam (2015), and Eric Lamaze from Canada. Multi-medallist Jeroen Dubbeldam will be aching to impress his home crowd as will his 15 compatriots, who include the current World No. 2, Harrie Smolders.

Steve Guerdat will be the sole Swiss representative, riding his faithful Bianca and Corbinian, who returns to international competition.

The winner of the Rolex Grand Prix will be decided from 3.45 p.m. on Sunday, 11th March – not to be missed!
