Following the withdrawal of Ireland’s Denis Lynch, Switzerland’s Bryan Balsiger has been promoted to the Grand Tour.   

One rider to benefit from the switch is Balsiger’s fellow countryman Martin Kühnis, who stands top of the list of wild cards on the Circuit Romand and now steps up to the Medium Tour, which means he will be competing at the world’s biggest indoor arena over the next few days. 

It is a wonderful opportunity for the Valais rider, who began his career 20 years ago with the support of the Little Dreams Foundation. It is an opportunity he intends to grasp with both hands. “I’m incredibly grateful and proud,” Kühnis told the organisers. “Thanks to everyone who made it possible.”
