Nine CHI Geneva competitions in the top 10 most statistically impressive fields in the world since 2010

Geneva, 13 January 2026 – A world leader in equestrian performance analysis, EquiRatings has just revealed its latest set of rankings. The figures, which cover the last 16 years, speak for themselves, confirming CHI Geneva’s status as one of the most competitive gatherings on the planet, with nine of its competitions figuring in the top ten most statistically impressive fields in the world.

An independent operator, EquiRatings assesses every horse based on who it beats and who beats it to gauge the true standard of jumping events and make a reliable comparison of a horse’s form over a 15-year period. In its final ranking of the most statistically impressive individual CSI 5* 160cm events held worldwide since 2010, CHI Geneva events appear nine times in the top ten, a remarkable achievement that confirms the position that it alone occupies in the international calendar and its ability to deliver an outstanding level of competition to audiences.

Topping the 16-year ranking is the Rolex Grand Prix 2024, won by the Netherlands’ Harrie Smolders on Monaco. Close behind in second is the 2023 Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final, which saw first place go to Switzerland’s Steve Guerdat on board Venard de Cerisy, one of four Rolex IJRC Top 10 Finals to figure in those nine ranking-topping CHIG events (see table).

In sixth place lies the 2025 Rolex Grand Prix. The winner was the USA’s Kent Farrington on Greya, his ninth Grand Prix (5* or World Cup) victory of that year – an all-time record – and his seventh 5* triumph on the mare that season, the most ever on one horse in a single year.

The EquiRatings ranking is reward for the decades of hard work that the CHIG organisers have put into organising high-quality events that both respect horses and captivate spectators. It also confirms CHI Geneva’s position as an occasion not to be missed.
