The CICR, our partner at heart

CHI Geneva welcomes the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) as its partner of heart for the fourth consecutive year. This partnership, born in Geneva, reflects a shared commitment: in sport as in humanitarian action, we protect, we preserve dignity, and we strive to maintain or restore mobility.

In conflict settings, especially in places where very few organizations can gain access, an injury goes far beyond physical pain. It can take away independence, lead to social isolation, and make everyday life extremely difficult for thousands of people. The ICRC’s physical rehabilitation programs, which include the provision of prostheses and orthoses, physiotherapy, adaptation of infrastructure, and support for social reintegration, aim to restore mobility, foster autonomy, and preserve the dignity of people affected by war or other situations of violence.

At the CHI Geneva Exhibitors’ Village, you will be able to discover this humanitarian commitment up close. An obstacle course, inspired by physiotherapy exercises used in ICRC-supported rehabilitation centers, will test balance, coordination, and endurance. Virtual reality experiences will immerse visitors in the daily work of ICRC teams, delegates, doctors, physiotherapists, and the people they support. ICRC staff will be on site to explain, step by step, how movement is rebuilt and how, all around the world, physical rehabilitation becomes a step toward greater independence.
