«Prêt à tout» was literally «ready for anything» - and for the victory!

Everything was «really ready» for another big victory here in Geneva! German Marcus Ehning has won the Rolex Grand Prix with a sensationally fast time, just ahead of none other than local hero Steve Guerdat.

This weekend could not have been any better for Marcus Ehning. The 44-year-old show jumper won the Rolex Grand Prix of Geneva with his fabulous Prêt à Tout in front of a very excited audience (42'500 spectators on the four tournament days). After his win of the GP of Aachen this summer, also with Prêt à Tout, this is his second win in the series of the Rolex Grand Slam, which provided him a 250,000 Euro bonus for two Major victories within one Grand Slam cycle (additional to the prize money of 400'000 Francs for the GP in Geneva). The only to approach the extremely fast winning time of the German were Steve Guerdat on his brilliant Albfuehren's Bianca (barely half a second behind) and the Irishman Darragh Kenny (one second behind). "We know he's almost unbeatable if he does not make a mistake in the jump-off," his competitors commented at the press conference. "We do not know what his secret is, but his turns are very tight and he's always very fast on the ground."

With his victory in the main competition, Marcus Ehning, very much recognized for his talent and the finesse of his horsemanship, achieved another great milestone at the tournament in Geneva. The last one, the victory in the World Cup Final in 2010 with Plot Blue, has been back a while. "It's a great feeling, and I'm very happy! And it's also a bit of a victory for Switzerland, as the owner of Prêt à Tout is Swiss", he says overwhelmed in the winner's interview. “And I'm just a little bit sorry for Steve, but today the oldest rider has won, and there will be more opportunities for him in the future."
