A world-ranking event and the second qualifying competition for Sunday’s Rolex Grand Prix, the Prix des Communes Genevoises took on extra significance this year.
Republic of Ireland’s Conor Swail, on board Count Me In, claimed victory, with Germany’s Marcus Ehning in second on the impressive stallion Funky Fred, and Switzerland’s Elian Bauman (Little Lumpi E) third.
Conor Swail: "Today’s event was really technical, and there were a lot of faults too. I had two options before I went out there: to make sure I went clear or to go for speed. I went for option two. My horse is very quick and I gave it all I had. I’m delighted to be in Geneva and to have qualified for the Rolex Grand Prix. I’m lucky enough to have one of the best horses in the world in Count Me In. He’s earned his day’s rest tomorrow and I’m sure he’ll be in great form on Sunday."
