The selection of drivers for the fifth stage of the FEI Driving World Cup in Geneva is known. Amongst the entries are the defending champion of the Geneva competition, the Dutchman Bram Chardon, as well as the Swiss rider Jérôme Voutaz, who has been awarded a wild card by the organisers.
Six drivers will compete in the only Swiss leg of the FEI Driving World Cup with an opening event, presented by the Institut International de Lancy, followed by the World Cup competition, presented by Radio Télévision Suisse. Dutch rider Bram Chardon, who won the World Team Championship in Italy last September, will be challenging for his Geneva title.
Belgium's Glenn Geerts and Dries Degrieck, team bronze medallists at the World Championships, and Germany's Michael Brauchle, 2015 European champion, individual bronze medallist and team silver medallist at the same World Championships, will nevertheless be serious contenders for victory. Not forgetting the American Chester Weber, team gold medallist at the 2018 World Equestrian Games.
Last but not least, the Swiss Jérôme Voutaz receives a wild card from the organisers, allowing him to participate in an additional stage of the World Cup. It should be noted that the Australian Boyd Exell, winner in Geneva on eleven occasions since 2008, will not be present. Last year, he was beaten by a certain Bram Chardon.
