Although she is only 23 years old, Dutch rider Sanne Thijssen put the big names in equestrian sport in their place by setting a fabulous time in the main competition of the day.
4 seconds difference! Often in show jumping, winning is a matter of hundredths of a second. But Sanne Thijssen's big lead over her pursuers is remarkable. The young Dutch rider set an impressive pace, made tight turns and let her phenomenal stallion Con Quidam RB gallop through the course and lines at top speed. The 23-year-old daughter of the internationally successful Leon Thijssen had already won the Grand Prix of Rotterdam in the summer and caused a sensation. Tonight she showed again that she will be a force to be reckoned with in the future. She won ahead of the Swiss Martin Fuchs on Conner Jei and the Belgian Grégory Wathelet on Faut-Il Des 7 Vallons. Elian Baumann, the second Swiss rider in the top 10, finished eighth with Little Lumpi E.
