German double

The second qualifier for Sunday's Rolex Grand Prix delivered a clear verdict as Olympic gold medallist Christian Kukuk relegated fellow German Daniel Deusser to second place in the Prix des Communes Genevoises.

For a long time, Karl Cook thought he would be playing The Star-Spangled Banner in this international show jumping competition against the clock over 1.55m. A tricky task that allowed the riders to be creative in order to be among the fastest to complete the course... And in this respect, the American and his brilliant Caracole de la Roque are often unbeatable. He set the bar relatively high with a clear lap of 68:85 minutes. Only number 29, Daniel Deusser on Otello de Guldenboom, was able to beat Karl Cook's time. To do this, the German took an unusual route and rode past oxer 4B to approach bidet number 11! A tight turn that allowed him to gain almost two seconds on Cook, who was now in second place. But Christian Kukuk, who had been watching his competitors' strategies closely, rode confidently into the arena with his stallion Chageorge, copying his compatriot's option and taking another one and a half seconds off the mark. Tiffany Foster, who started last, completed the podium.
