Sustainable Development Commission

For many years, the Concours Hippique International de Genève has been aware of its impact on the environment, and has taken steps to improve it. In 2007, a Sustainable Development Commission was created, with a mandate to propose concrete, practical solutions to reduce the CHIG's environmental impact. This commission evolved in 2024, taking the name of Ethics and Sustainability Commission, and focusing its strategy on 3 fundamental axes: animal welfare, environmental preservation and the human factor.

Major efforts have been put in place and are being summarized in a sustainability report, which will soon be available for consultation.

The CHIG's efforts have been rewarded twice at national level, in 2008 and 2010, with the Ecosport prize, an award for sporting events that ensure respect for the environment in Swiss sport.

In 2025, the CHIG obtained the first level of Swisstainable certification, rewarding its commitment to sustainability.

Participate in our eco-friendliness and come to the event with the local public transports (TPG, CFF) or using our car-sharing option.
